Question 26861
In this equation, you are given a y-intercept (-3) and given a line that it is parallel with. If you know that parallel means "has the same slope as" then you'd realize that if you know the slope to the line the gave you, you'll also know the slope of the line you want. If an equation of x & y is in the slope intercept format (y=mx+b) you know the slope is m. In this case, y=2/3x+1 is already written in that format, and you know that m = the slope = 2/3 for this line. Your parallel line must also have the same slope, 2/3. Now that you have the slope (m=2/3) and the y-intercept (b=-3) you can use that to create your line in slope intercept form.

{{{y=2x/3-3}}}
