Question 26761
Im guessing what you mean is

*[tex \{x | -3>x}]

In this case the curly brackets mean 'the set of', and the | means 'such that'. As it doesn't say I assume that *[tex x\in\mathbb{R}]. Therefore, in english this translates to:

"The set of all (real numbers) x such that -3 is strictly greater than x."

I'm not sure what interval notation is, but do you mean *[tex x\in\(-\infty, -3)]. If that's not what you meant, please email back.

Hope that helps,
Kev.
