Question 193342
the problem is difference of y=|x| and y=|x+2|
we might say that the second function is translated left 2

graphing calc might help, but by hand
draw x-y coordinates,,,plot y=|x|,,by using t box,, x=0,y=0, x=2, y=+/-2,, etc
this is a large "less than symbol", vertex at (0,0)
if we do the same for y=|x+2|,,x=0, y=+/-2,,,x=-2,,y=0,,, etc
this is again a large "less than symbol",, but vertex is at x=(-2,0)
or it is shifted 2 left

note:
in general we will experience translations as (x+2) shift left2, or (x-2) shift right, for other functions as well, parabolas, sin, cos,,etc

the ( y+2) counterpart is a shift down 2,,,and (y-2) is a shift 2 up.
However we normally put y shifts on other side of equal sign,
for instance y=5x +60,,, this is a shift of 60 up,and y=5x-60, is a shift down 60.
Just take it one step at a time.
