Question 190567
Determine whether the polynomial P(x) has a zero remainder when divided by (x-3).
Determine Q(x).
P(x)=x^5-5x^4-2x^3+18x^2+24x-18
Determine Q(x) is throwing me off. I need help please.
--------------------
Q(x) is the quotient when you divide by x-3.
----
Using synthetic division you get:
3)....1....-5....-2....18....24....-18
.......1.....-2....-8....-6....6....|..0

==============
Quotient: x^4 -2x^3 -8x^2 -6x + 6
Remainder: 0
