Question 190421
Ok, I am having problems finding the y-intercept in the following problem:
For the function y= (x-5)(x+3)(8x-2), its y-intercept is y= ?
its x-intercepts are x= 5,-3,and (1/4)
Could someone help me and explain how to find the y-intercept?
------------------
The y-intercept is the point at x = 0.
If you multiply the 3 binomials, the constant will be 30 (-5 x 3 x -2).
Setting x = 0 will make all the other terms 0, and you're left with the 30.
The y-intercept is (0,30)
