Question 189397
i have no clue how to work these
find coordinates of the vertex and the equation of the directrix of the parabola (x-6)^2= -12(y+2)
-------------------
Do you see that if you let x=6, y would be -2 ?
---
That is the vertex: (6,-2)
---------------
Using the form (x-h)^2 = 4p(y-k) you should see that
4p = -12
p = -3.
So the directrix is 3 below the vertex.
Directrix is y = -5
