Question 187898
Of the total population of older Americans, 18% live in Florida. For a randomly selected sample of 200 older Americans, find the probability that more than 40 live in Florida.

This is my work p=0.18 q= 0.82 and n=200
np= (200(0.18)=36    nq=(200)(0.82)=164

square root of npq= square root of 29.52= 5.43
--------------
You need the t-value of 40
t(40) = (40-36)/[84/sqrt(200)] = 0.6734
--------

p(x>40) = P(t>0.6734 with df = 199) = 0.2507
-------------------------------------
