Question 185925
Please show me how to work this difference of 2 rational expressions, reduced to its lowest terms.
[y / 7x] - [(x-2) / 2y]

If you are adding or subtracting fractions you need a least common denominator:

You lcd is 14xy
--------------------
Rewrite each fraction with the lcd as its denominator:

[2y^2/lcd] - [7x(x-2)/lcd]

Now you can subtract to get:

[2y^2 - 7x(x-2)]/lcd

Now simplify the numerator:

[2y^2 - 7x^2 + 14x]/[14xy]

--------------------------------
