Question 184258
A shoe store owner is interested in determining if the average weight of a package of shoes sold in the store weighs two pounds. An appropriate alternate hypothesis for this study is
a. H1: (Mu) = 2 lb
b. H1: (Mu) not equal to 2 lb
c. H1: (Mu) > 2 lb
d. H1: (Mu) < 2 lb
*I was thinking (d.), would that be the right answer?
If it isn't why not, and which one would be the most appropriate?
---------
d would be the null hypothesis because that is what is commonly believed.
b would be the alternate hypothesis as it is the altenate to u = 2.
