Question 183096
What is the volume of a glass ball that is dropped into a cylinder with a radius of 6 cm and it raises the water level 1 cm?
-----------------
Cylinder volume:
{{{V = pi*r^2h}}}
{{{V = 36pi*h}}}
--------------------
Each 1 cm increase of h increases the volume 36pi cc (or ml), so
V = 36pi = ~113.1 cc
----------------
Note that this is true ONLY if the object sinks. If it floats, it's a different deal, and it might be a witch.
