Question 181132
The first one
Shari spent $15.00 on a soccer ball and a kick ball. The soccer ball cost 3 times as much as the kick ball. How much did each ball cost?
----
Equations:
s + k = 15
s = 3k
-------------
Substitute to solve for "k":
3k + k = 15
4k = 15
k = $3.75 (price of kick ball)
---
s = 3k = 3*3.75 = $11.25 (price of soccer ball)

Baseballs are going on sale next week for $8.00 each. Mario plans to buy 3 baseballs. He figures he will save a total of $6 if he waits to buy the balls on sale. What is the regular price of a baseball? I think this answer is based on the $24.00 price of the 3 balls and then subtracting the $6.00 from the $24.00 the regular price is $18.00 / 3
is that correct.

Looks good.
