Question 179741
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

If *[tex \Large f(x) = 2x - 5] and If *[tex \Large g(x) = 1 - x ] then:

*[tex \Large (f + g)(x) = f(x) + g(x) = (2x - 5) + (1 - x)]

*[tex \Large (f - g)(x) = f(x) - g(x) = (2x - 5) - (1 - x)]

*[tex \Large (fg)(x) = \[f(x)\]\[g(x)\] = (2x - 5)(1 - x)]

*[tex \Large (f/g)(x) = \frac {f(x)}{g(x)} = \frac {(2x - 5)}{(1 - x)}]

You just have to do the simplifications. The domain of *[tex \Large (f/g)(x)] is all real numbers excluding any value that would make the function undefined. Hint: What value for x would cause you to divide by zero? Exclude that value.
