Question 178058
Mr. smith has a garden that is a total of 100 square feet. The width is 7.5 feet. what is the length. how much fencing in feet, will he need to fence the entire garden?

We know that the formula for Area is area = length x width (a = lw)
We also know that the formula for Perimiter is perimeter = 2 x length + 2 x width (p = 2l + 2w)

Our area is 100 square feet, and the width is 7.5 feet

So, using our area formula we get:
100 = 7.5w
Divide both sides by 7.5
w= 13.33 feet

Now, we can figure out the perimeter (how much fencing needed to fence the entire garden)
P = 2(7.5) + 2(13.33)
P = 15 + 26.66
P = 41.66
