Question 178038
Lolo has 16,65$ and some coins of 1 cent. From this lolo gave 10$ to his friend. He equaly shared the remaining money amoung his brother and sister. If his brother got 2.50$,how many coins of 1 cent did he have at the beginning?
At first,he had 16,65$ and 0,01x.
from this he gave 10$.
IT gives me 6,65$ and 0,01x
----------------------------------
Now he gave equal shares to his brother and sister:
Each received (6,65$ + 0.01x)/2 = (3,325$ + 0.005x)
--------------------------------
Brother got 2.50$ so you have the following equation:
3,325$ + 0.005x = 2.50$
--------------------
If your money conversion is 1.00$ = 100 cents you have the following:
Equation in cents: 332.5 + 0.005x = 250
------
Comment: This doesn't make any sense as x would have to be negative.
