Question 178000
isoceles triangle question. It's been years and I have forgotten the formulas! The vertex is 20 degress larger than a base angle. What is the measurement of each angle?
------------------
Let one of the base angles be "x" degrees.
Then the other base angle must also be "x" degrees.
-------------------------
Since the sum of the three angles must be 180 degrees,
x + x + 20 = 180
2x + 20 = 180
2x = 160
x = 80 degrees
------------------
Each base angle is 80 degrees
The vertex angle is 20 degrees.
