Question 176535
Example: Assume that one dollar is equal to 1.14 euros. If 500 g of an item is selling for 25 euros, what is it's price in dollars per kg?
-------------------
25 euros = 25*1.14 dollars = $28.50
500 g/$28.50 = $28.50/500 dollars per gram (the units are inverted to try to trick you)
$28.50/500 = $0.057/gm
You were given info grams per dollar (or euros, to add confusion), and asked for dollars per gm.
You can catch things like this if you include the units in your calculations, rather than just the numbers.
500 gm/25 euros --> 25 euros/500 grams = 1/20 euros/gm
Then for dollars, it's (1/20) (euros/gm)*1.14*($/euro)/gm = $0.075 dollars/gm  same answer.
Notice that the units cancel, which makes a good check for your result.
