Question 175780
1.) simplify (13x4 – 3x3 + 2x2) – (4x5 – 6x4 + 5x3 + 2x2 – 4x0)
Multiply the polynomial in parentheses by -1
(13x4 – 3x3 + 2x2) – (4x5 – 6x4 + 5x3 + 2x2 – 4x0)
= 13x4 – 3x3 + 2x2 – 4x5 + 6x4 - 5x3 - 2x2 + 4 (I assume 13x4 means {{{13x^4}}})
The 4x0 is just 4, anything to the power of zero is 1.
Notice that the -1 changes all the signs of the terms.
---------------------------
Add like terms, terms with the same exponent and put in descending order.
= {{{-4x^5 + 19x^4 - 8x^3 +4}}}
-----------------
2. {{{(5x^3)*(4x^2-11x)}}}
={{{5x^4*(4x - 11)}}} or
={{{20x^5 - 55x^4}}}
Which is simpler is a matter of opinion.
