Question 175230
Note to the student: Use parentheses to make it clear what you mean. One of the tutors who solved this interpreted your equation to read {{{x + 1 =(2/3)x}}} and the other interpreted it as {{{x + 1 = 2/3x}}}. You can see that these two equations are not the same thing at all if you look at the results. Given that you had an independent source of the solution set being {{{x=-3}}}, then the first interpretation was probably correct, however if you want us to help you properly, in the future you need to be crystal clear about what you want.
