Question 174075
You don't. You haven't set the expression equal to anything, so there is nothing to solve. You can, however, simplify the expression by factoring both the numerator and denominator and then eliminating any factors common to both.

Am I being nit-picky about the use of the word 'solve'? You bet I am. Mathematics is an exact science and therefore the language we use to describe it needs to be as exact as possible.

By the way, please stop using ALL CAPS. It is the electronic equivalent of shouting and therefore both rude and annoying.
