Question 168484
Given the point slope formula: y-y1=m(x–x1)
and the definition of perpendicular lines: The slopes of two perpendicular lines are opposite inverses. (example: 1/2 and -2/1; -3/2 and 2/3...)
.
So we know that the slope of the new line is -4.
.
{{{y-7=-4(x-(-3))}}}
.
{{{y-7=-4(x+3)}}}
.
{{{y-7=-4x-12}}}
.
{{{y=-4x-5}}}
.
I hope this helps!
