Question 164936
Solve for x. Collect xs on the LEFT side. The solution should be presented with x first, the correct inequality symbol, then the number.
11x + 3 – 13x – 7 < 2(5 + 4x)

Collect on the left side and get rid of parens (distributive law)

-2x-4<10+8x subtract 8x from and add 4 to each side

-2x-8x-4+4<10+4+8x-8x collect on both sides
-10x<14 divide each side by -10 (Note: the inequality sign changes)
x>-1.4 ---------------------------------------ans

Hope this helps----ptaylor
