Please see my Lesson Plan in algebra.com on Basic Algebra Equation Solving. It is complete with detailed explanations, examples, exercises, and answers to ALL exercises.

 4x + 15 = 7(4-2x)

The first step is to remove the parentheses:
4x + 15 = 28-14x

Next, get all variable terms on one side. It might be a good idea to add +14x to each side:
4x + 15+14x = 28-14x+14x
18x + 15 = 28

Get all NUMBER terms on the right side by subtracting 15 from each side:
18x + 15 - 15 = 28 - 15
18x = 13

Because the left side is 18x which means 18 TIMES x, you need to UNDO multiplication by 18. This means you need to DIVIDE both sides by 18:
{{{(18x)/18= 13/18}}}

Final answer is {{{x=13/18}}}
