Question 160926
{{{-x-(13+4x)=-3(5-9x)+2}}}
==============================
Simplify the left side:
{{{-x-13-4x=-3(5-9x)+2}}}
Simplify the right side:
{{{-x-13-4x=-15+27x+2}}}
Simplify each side some more:
{{{-5x-13=27x-13}}}
Add 5x to each side of the equation:
{{{-13=32x-13}}}
Add 13 to each side of the equation:
{{{32x=0}}}
Divide each side of the equation by 32 and you are done:
{{{highlight(x=0)}}}
===============================
You were probably just making a mistake with your signs...look especially at the very first step. The term {{{-(13+4x)}}} is really {{{-1*(13+4x)}}}. When you multiply through that -1, you end up with {{{-13-4x}}}.
