Question 159216
i stumbled on to an equation that i haven't been able to prove works with all numbers but it worked with 60 and it worked with another number i devised by multiplying any 4 consecutive even integers together.
the least that was accomplished was supplying you with the answer to your question.
the best would be if it worked for all numbers that contained an answer.
i'll play with it some more.
-----------------------------------------------
in the meantime, here's your solution
you want to find 4 consecutive even integers that add up to 60
if you let x be the first number then,
+x
+x+2
+x+4
+x+6
equals 4*x + 12
if x is going to work, then 4*x + 12 = 60
this becomes 4*x = 48
this becomes x = 12
(12 + 14 + 16 + 18) = (26 + 16 + 18) = (42 + 18) = 60
your answer is 12,14,16,18
