Question 23001
Let me take a shot at it anyway. Is this what you mean:

{{{log(8,(3x-1)) = log(8,(2x)^2) }}}???

If that is the question, then you can say that if {{{log(b, x)=log(b,y)}}}, then {{{x=y}}}.

Likewise, {{{log(8,(3x-1)) = log(8,(2x)^2) }}} means that {{{3x-1= (2x)^2}}}

{{{3x-1 = 4x^2}}}, which is a quadratic equation. Get this equal to zero by adding -3x +1 to each side of the equation:

{{{0=4x^2 -3x +1}}}

This does not factors so you'll have to solve by quadratic formula. Before I go to a lot of trouble to do that, let's check to see if I copied the problem correctly. You can repost this or send me an Email to finish the problem.
