Solve the 1st equation for "Y" as follows:
Y = X-3.  Now plot a couple of points, like
(0,-3) and (3,0) and draw the line.
Then solve the 2nd equation for Y as follows:
Y = -X+1.  Plot a couple of points for this 
equation, such as ((0,1) and (1,0), and draw
that line. 
Find the point where the two lines meet.  The
X and Y value of that point give you the solution.
