Question 151219
Okay this is good one,
What is asked is square area on the sides, so we need to recall the {{{AREA}}} in finding for hexagonal based pyramid.
For the formula, we need to get the {{{Area}}} of the {{{highlight(base)}}} + the {{{Area}}} of the triangles--> that are </pre><font size=5><b>6</pre> because it's hexagonal right?</pre>
But, what is ask is ONLY the {{{AREA}}} on the sides of the pyramid, not including the base. Good!
Our working eqn, --------> {{{SurfaceArea=(1/2)(BaseSide)(SlantHeight)}}}*6
{{{SA=(1/2)5m*30m*6}}}
{{{SA=450m^2}}}----------> Area of the hexagonal sides
*note: want to take the whole area, go to www.argyll.epsb.ca/jreed/math8
Thank you,
