Question 148886
Hi Tres,
.
Starting with:
[x+2]/[(x-6)/4] = 3
.
To remove the 4 from the denominator, we multiply the fraction on the left by 4/4 to get:
[4(x+2)]/[x-6] = 3
.
Now, to get rid of the (x-6) from the denominator, we multiply both sides by (x-6) to get:
4(x+2) = 3(x-6)
.
Now, we expand to get:
4x+8 = 3x-18
.
subtracting 3x from both sides we get:
x+8 = -18
.
finally we subtract 8 from both sides:
x = -26
.
