Question 147663
**{{{f(x)=f(-x)}}} if they are even
**{{{-f(x)=f(-x)}}} if they are odd
**neither property is true if they are neither

An even function is a function where the same pattern is reflected on the y-axis. That means that for negative and positive x values, the y follows the same pattern. To figure out if they are even or not, plug in 1 for x, and see what you get. Then plug in -1 for x, and see what you get. If {{{f(x)=f(-x)}}} is true (if you end up with the same answer for both), then they are even. If you don't, then they are not even.
