Question 142442
Please see my website by clicking on my tutor name "rapaljer" anywhere in algebra.com. Click on the second link on my home page, which is "Basic, Intermediate, and College Algebra: One Step at a Time." Choose "Basic Algebra" and then click on "Chapter 1", and look for three sections on Word Problems. Start with the first one, which is "Section 1.09 Introduction to Word Problems." I've really tried to write this explanation so it can be understood by my own students, not mathematicians and textbook publishers!! I think you will find it easier to understand than your own book!! The next two sections are Sections 1.10 Part I and Part II, which are actual word problems. A LOT of these problems are solved in my "MATH IN LIVING COLOR" section, which you will have no trouble finding. Enjoy my website!! I think you will like it.
