Question 141288
Factor completely:
{{{x^3+x^2-25x-25}}} First, factor by grouping, as follows:
{{{(x^3+x^2)-(25x+25)}}} Notice the sign change in the last term because of the added parentheses. Now fctor {{{x^2}}} from the first group and 25 from the second group.
{{{x^2(x+1)-25(x+1)}}} Factor out the (x+1)
{{{(x+1)(x^2-5)}}} Now notice that the second factor is the difference of squares:{{{(x)^2-(5)^2}}} and you can factor this.
{{{(x+1)(x+5)(x-5)}}}...and this is as far as you can go!
