You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
Joe: 1 job / 6 hours = 1/6 job per hour
(1/6 job per hour) x 2 hours = 2/6 job = 1/3 job
Joe can do 1/3 of the job in 2 hours.
.
Charlie: 1 job / 5 hours = 1/5 job per hour
(1/5 job per hour) x 2 hours = 2/5 job
Charlie can do 2/5 of the job in 2 hours.
.
For two hours with both working:
Joe + Charlie = 1/3 job + 2/5 job = 5/15 job + 6/15 job = 11/15 job
ANSWER: The two together will complete 11/15 of the job in two hours.
