You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Rick's speed x mph
Mike's speed = x+ 8 mph
..
They are moving away from each other

So add up their speed.

combined speed = x+ x+ 8
( 2 x + 8 )
Time = 7 hours
Distance = 448 miles
Distance = speed * time
( 2 x 8 )* 7 = 448
14.00 x + 56 = 448
14 x = 448 + -56
14 x = 392
/ 14
x= 28 mph
Rick's speed = 28 mph
Mike's speed = 28 + 8 = 36 mph
