F=(9C/5)+32 (conversion formula)
x=same temperature for C and F
x=(9x/5)+32
multiply 5 times each side: 5x=9x+160
subtract 9x from each side: -4x=160
divide -4 into each side: x= -40 degrees.
Check:
-40=((9*-40)/5)+32
-40=-72+32
