Question 997741: Two parallel lines are cut by a transversal and form a pair of alternate exterior angles. One angle measures (6x + 5)° and the other measures (7x – 4)°. Explain how to determine what those angles actually measure?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
since alternate exterior angles are congruent, you get:

6x + 5 = 7x - 4

subtract 6x from both sides of this equation and add 4 to both sides of this equation to get 5 + 4 = 7x - 6x which results in 9 = x
solve for x to get x = 9 degrees.
