You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x= cost of adult tickets
y= cost of student tickets
Total sold
7 x + 11 y = 234 .............1
Total value
14 x + 4 y = 234 .............2
Eliminate y
multiply (1)by -4
Multiply (2) by 11
-28 x -44 y = -936
154 x + 44 y = 2574
Add the two equations
126 x = 1638
/ 126
x = 13
plug value of x in (1)
7 x + 11 y = 234
91 + 11 y = 234
11 y = 234 -91
11 y = 143
y = 13
x= 13 cost of adult tickets
y= 13 cost of student tickets
