You can put this solution on YOUR website! The fraction of the total possible points that each received is given. Monica 22/25, Lily 17/20, Nikki 4/5, Sydney 3/4. If students receive a whole number of points on every exam item, can the exam be worth a total of 80 points? Explain.
 -----
 Let x be the total number of points::
 Equation::
 [(22/25) + (17/20) + (4/5) + (3/4)]x = 80
 Multiply thru by 100 to get:
 -------
 Simplify::
 [4*22 + 5*17 + 20*4 + 25*3]x = 8000
 ----
 328x = 8000
 x = 24.39
 ----
 That is not a whole number of points.
 The exam cannot be worth 80 points
