Question 996685: 2-x=2 how do I get rid of the negative that is going to be left in front of the x Found 2 solutions by MathLover1, addingup:Answer by MathLover1(20850) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! That's easy. You should know that working with equations as long as you do to both sides the same you're OK. In the case of your problem:
2-x=2 Add x to both sides
2-x+x= 2+x on the left -x and +x cancel one another, so you get:
2= 2+x To further simplify, subtract 2 from both sides:
0= x or, just to write it more elegantly:
x= 0
