You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Objective: Isolate X.
3x - 7 = 2x + 8
3x + (-2x) - 7 = 2x + (-2x) + 8 Add the additve inverse of 2x to both sides.
x - 7 = 8
x - 7 + (7) = 8 + (7) Add the additive inverse of -7 to both sides.
x = 15

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x – 7 = 2x + 8
First move all terms with x to one side of the equal sign
and all terms without x to the opposited side.
3x – 2x = 8 + 7
next combine like terms
x=15
Now to check replace x in the original equation with 15
3x – 7 = 2x + 8
3(15) – 7 = 2(15) + 8
45 – 7 = 30 + 8
38=38
