You can put this solution on YOUR website!
22 mph to work, 32 mph from work.
time to go to work is distance/speed. This is a form of the equation distance=speed*time.
The units are miles/(miles/hour)=hour.
tw=d/22
th=d/32
(d/22)+(d/32)=2.25 hours
multiply both sides by (32*22)
32d+22d=1584; (32*22*2.25)
54d=1584
d=29 1/3 miles.
time to work is 29(1/3)/22=1 hour 20 minutes (4/3 hours); 1.3333 hours;
(check with time from work 29(1/3)/32=0.916666 hours; 55 minutes.
They add to 2 hours 15 minutes.
