You can put this solution on YOUR website! The 2-hour class is 37x2= 74
The 4-hour class is 37x4= 148
And we'll call the 2-hour class "a" and the other"b"
a+b=41, therefore a= 41-b
74a+148b= 3848 Substitute per above:
74(41-b)+148b= 3848 Multiply on left
3034-74b+148b= 3848 Subtract 3034 on both sides and add b's on left:
74b= 814 Divide both sides by 74:
b= 11 4-hour classes and:
41- 11= 30 2-hour classes.
Let's see:
11 x 148= 1628
30 x 74= 2220
Total.....3848 We have the correct answer
