You can put this solution on YOUR website! x^2+3x+5 >=0
quadratic formula. Find the roots.
x=(1/2) (-3 +/- sqrt (9+20))
sqrt (29)=5.385
x>=(1/2)(2.385) or x=1.193
x<=(1/2)(-8.385) or x =-4.193
These are the roots. One can graph (see below) or look at these critical points.
Look at -5; 25-15+5 is greater than or equal to zero, so everything to the left of the negative root works.
Look between the roots. Zero is the easiest to use. 5 is not greater than 0, so this is not part of the solution.
Look at x=2. 4+6+5 is greater than 0, so this is part of the solution.
x<= -4.193 and x>= 1.193 are the solutions.
