(Definition of complementary angles) m ∠ UKV + m ∠ VKW = 90°

(Congruent vertical angles) ∠UKV ≅ ∠XKY, ∠VKW ≅ ∠YKZ

(Definition of congruent angles) m ∠ UKV = m ∠ XKY, m ∠ VKW = m ∠ YKZ

(Substitution) m ∠ YKZ + m ∠ XKY = 90°

(Definition of complementary angles) ∠YKZ and ∠XKY are complements.
