You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Two trains leave towns 614km apart at the same time and travel
toward each other. One train travels 11/kmh faster than the
other. If they meet in 2 hours, what is the rate of each train?
Let the slower train's speed be x km/h
Then the faster train's speed is x+11 km/h

Therefore their speed of approach is the sum of their speeds
or (x)+(x+11) or (2x+11) km/h.

Since matrix%281%2C2%2CAPPROACH%2CRATE%29%22%22=%22%22DISTANCE%2FTIME%22%22=%22%22matrix%281%2C2%2C614%2Ckm%29%2Fmatrix%281%2C2%2C2%2Chours%29%22%22=%22%22matrix%281%2C2%2C307%2Ckm%2Fh%29

So 2x%2B11%22%22=%22%22307
    2x%22%22=%22%22296
        x%22%22=%22%22148

The slower train is traveling 148 km/h
The faster train is traveling 148+11 = 159 km/h
