Step 1: Round 2.68 to the nearest whole number. Round 3.49 to the nearest whole number. Add the two whole numbers.

Step 2: Round 2.68 to the nearest tenth. Round 3.49 to the nearest tenth. Add these two numbers.

Step 3: Add 2.68 to 3.49. Which answer from the first two steps above is closer to the sum of the actual numbers?
