You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hi there,
Make first piece = 'x'
Second piece = x + 6
Third piece = 19 + 8(x + 6)
Add all pieces together:
x + x + 6 + 19 + 8(x + 6)
x + x + 6 + 19 + 8x + 48
= 10x + 73
Now the pipes length is 173 inches.
So:- 10x + 73 = 173
10x = 100
x = 10
So,
First piece = 10 inches
Second piece = 16 inches
Third piece = 147 inches
Hope this helps :-)
