Question 991190: I do not know how to do this?
Determine whether a figure with the given vertices is a parallelogram using the slope formula B(26,23), C(2,23), e(24,4),G(24,4) Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
The slopes of parallel lines are equal. So if the line through two adjacent vertices has a slope equal to the line through the other two vertices, then you at least have a trapezoid. Then if the other pair of lines also have equal slopes, you have a parallelogram.
The slope formula is:
where and are the coordinates of the given points.
You have to use this formula four times.
