Question 989761: So I am having a difficult time with proofs and how to set them up, like the reasons and what proof goes for what equations step. but I am stuck on a algebraic proof starting with 1.6=3.2n- Given. Please help. ik I would divide both sides by 3.2 but idk how to put it into words.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! So I am having a difficult time with proofs and how to set them up, like the reasons and what proof goes for what equations step. but I am stuck on a algebraic proof starting with 1.6=3.2n- Given. =============
I don't know what the problem is.
1.6 = 3.2n
Divide by 3.2
n = 0.5
That's all.
==============
It's not a proof, it's the solving of the equation.

In your written proof, you must indicate the property used in relation to how the given equation was solved. In this case, it is the Division Property of Equality which states "if you divide both sides of an equation by the same nonzero number (3.2), the sides remain equal".
Proof: Given that 1.6 = 3.2n, we will use the division property of equality to show if a = b then a/c = b/c such that 1.6 = 3.2n and 1.6/3.2 = 3.2n/3.2. Therefore, n = 0.5. (as shown in the previous answer)
It has been awhile since I wrote proofs. There are many tutorials on how to correctly write if/then statements, here is one that might help:
