multiply 6 time the inequality: 2<3x+2<5
subtract 2: 0<3x<3
divide by 3: 0
Check:
let x=.5: 1/3<1/4+1/3<5/6...1/3<3/12+4/12<5/6...1/3<7/12<5/6 true
let x=0: 1/3<1/3 false
let x=1: 1/2+1/3<5/6...3/6+2/6<5/6 false
therefore: is right on!
