to find out which is greater 4%2F5 or 11%2F12, first find common denominator which is gcf 5 and 12: it is 60
so, we have 4%2F5=48%2F60 and 11%2F12=55%2F60
48%2F60 and 55%2F60 have same denominator, and numerator will tell us which rational number is greater:
since 55%3E48, means 55%2F60%3E48%2F60 or 11%2F12%3E4%2F5
